On-rail Arcade Shooters!

09 February 2018 - 07:17 AM

All of the hype surrounding Jurassic World 2, whetted my appetite for a bit of Jurassic Park arcade action from 1994. There was...er something wrong with my game...it kept giving me 'continues'! Still, what's a chap to dowink.gif

Despite being rubbish at it, I very much enjoyed the experience! Anyone else got any more on-rail arcade-shooter recommendations?

Captain Toad: Treasure Seeker

13 December 2017 - 05:38 AM

Just a quick post to say the Lord Fortescue Christmas episode is now online. Playing Captain Toad reminds Bobbety of the time he lost Arabella's present, and had to go on a treasure hunt of his own;-)

Lego City Undercover and Adlestrop!

23 October 2017 - 12:15 PM

Now that the WiiU has passed over into the realms of retro, I've started taking an interest in it;-) More specifically, I've chosen a WiiU game to put alongside some poetry in my new YouTube series which mixes poetry with gameplay. This might be a stupid idea! Any feedback would be much appreciated (It's a very short video - just over a minute and a half).

Galaxian or Galaga...which is best?

17 September 2017 - 11:01 PM

In my latest video, I start off by saying Galaga is far superior to Galaxian...and then I wondered...it it really!? Galaga is certainly more varied and faster, but does that actually make it better. There is a pleasing hypnotic quality to Galaxian that there isn't time for in its sort-of sequel.

I'm interested in knowing what NZgamers think about this.

My video for reference, and if you fancy a bit of silliness:-)

Obscure Arcade Games Suggestion Thread

28 June 2017 - 11:09 AM

I've noticed when playng what I like to call Rom Roulette on MAME (basically scroling through the rom list with my eyes closed, stopping at a random point and playing the highlighted game!) that there are dozens of games I've never heard of, but which are quite brilliant. Swimmer is one of them, New York, New York is another, and Jungle King is yet another!

I was wondering what other hidden gems NZGamers might have found?

I've included a link to my Jungle KIng video for reference, but feel free to ignore - it's full of my usual silliness. Bobbety:-)
