#783346 Rocket League

Hey Monkey & Dodgy, enjoyed watching your games on Monkey's stream like the good old days. Hopefully I can join in next time.

Monkey: the Rocket League Tournaments beta is live for PC today - supposedly it's being released properly in March/April - this could be a good option if it's out in time for your April 14th tourney that may or may not be happening?.

I do like that goal explosion.
Somehow I bet size will get two of them two weeks in a row, painted and certified.

You know it! Here's hoping they come painted. The new RLCS wheels are definitely not as cool as the Apex from what I've seen.

Tried my luck using my switch online via my phone's data hotspot at lunchtime, worked great.

That sounds like a recipe for some pretty bad input lag - but it's not too bad? Do you disable cross-play so you only get matched with other Switch players? May be a bit easier since you'd be more likely to come across fellow newer players - and avoid the PC guys with their high frame rate & low input lag advantages.

Crate items are all exclusive to the crates, but there are tonnes of other different items which drop randomly at the end of games. Crate items are generally better looking and flashy. If you don't want to buy keys, you can trade items and crates that drop to people who will pay keys for them. When a new crate drops, you can usually get 1 or so keys per crate for a few days, until they become common and not as sought-after.

There are seasonal events (Easter/Christmas/Halloween) which drop a limited set of free items as well.

I don't think anything major is coming in this latest upate - the bigger update looks like it'll be the one in March/April (which includes the Switch updates). Cross-Platform parties to come later in 2018, and I'll definitely be up for partying up when that hits.

The seasons relate to the ranked playlists - you get a different reward for each rank attained over the season - though the season rewards are never anything that amazing (or maybe they are, but not the ones I get at my level!)

Update hype! Should be dropping tomorrow afternoon our time. A little preview of some of the new items. Those wheels look pretty hot.

Psyonix released their roadmap for the next few months. Some cool stuff coming. New stream rewards!

Corey Davis    Community News    Rocket League , Season 6 , Tournaments , Xbox One X

Hi everybody! With our next update fast approaching, we wanted to share with you some of our plans for the first few months of 2018.

We’re testing out a new update schedule this year that alternates Content Updates - which include things like new Competitive Seasons (and rewards), Maps, Events, and DLC - with Feature Updates that focus on new functionality like Tournaments or Cross-Platform Parties.

This alternating schedule lets us update on a more frequent and regular cycle, guarantees you won’t have to wait too long between Competitive Seasons, and lets us spend more time perfecting and bug fixing features before they go live.

With that in mind, here are the highlights of what you can look forward to in the months ahead.

  • February Content Update
    • Competitive Season 7 Begins
    • Competitive Season 6 Rewards
    • New Crate
    • New RLCS Fan Rewards
  • Tournaments Beta
    • Steam public beta for our upcoming Tournaments Feature
  • New Licensed Premium DLC

  • Spring Event

  • Spring Feature Update

    • Tournaments

      • Play against other players in bracketed, single elimination tournaments

    • Quality of Life Updates

      • Item Stacking

      • Better Item Filtering, Searching, and Sorting

      • Equip to Blue/Orange Team for Painted Car Bodies

      • New and Expanded Options

        • Packet Send/Receive Rate and Bandwidth Limits

        • “Team Quick Chat Only”

        • Disable “One Minute Remaining”, etc. messages

    • Connection Quality Info

      • See notifications for Packet Loss, Latency Variance, and Server Performance in-game

      • Will help us and the community better differentiate between “server issues” and connection problems

    • Switch Performance & Visual Quality Updates

      • Performance Mode - 900p (Docked) / 720p (Handheld) @ 60 FPS with infrequent dynamic resolution scaling

      • Quality Mode - Native 1080p (Docked) / 720p (Handheld) @ 30 FPS with added visual effects

Once we’re past the Tournaments release we’ll begin talking more about our roadmap for the summer and beyond with posts like these every few months. As a quick reminder, here are some of the features that are still being developed for 2018 release:

  • Cross-Platform Parties

    • Party up and matchmake with players from other (participating) platforms

  • Progression Updates

    • Make XP relevant again

    • Earn Decryptors through play

    • New Banners, Titles, and other rewards for reaching high levels

  • New Arenas

  • New Features

  • Xbox One X - We are now targeting Xbox One X support for late 2018

That’s just a quick look at the major highlights that are coming up this year, and look out for the February Update next week (pending first-party certification approvals) when it launches on all platforms February 7.

You could always just use your keys to trade for a goal explosion, will likely save you a lot of keys if that's what you're looking for.

You should sell them for real money?

Gotta say, setting my alarm for 3.45am to log into the stream isn't fun, but worth it when these are the result!

EDIT: Monkey (and everyone else) - you must be loving the look of the upcoming in-game tournament mode? We definitely have to get on that for a little NZ Gamer tourney

Dude, I tried a couple of games and felt like I'd never played before. Crazy how a week or two off can make such a big difference, right?

In other news, I just logged in and saw that I got a set of Tactician Crimson Apex to drop. That website lists the uncertified ones at 240 keys...

I would do a video, but you guys have covered everything so well, I'd just be doubling up.

A Highlight of iLythium's video from 2:13. Inemzis: "You look like an ant carrying a giant crumb" :D

Loved the different modes we played, and am already looking forward to the next one!

There's a few places around, e.g.

http://rocketprices.net/ps4 for a rough idea on item values, though definitely not gospel, gives a decent idea.

https://www.rl-trades.com/#pf=ps4 shows a consolidation from a few different sites of what people are selling/wanting.

Trading can be a bit annoying – there are so many scammers & people giving lowball offers, though lots of good traders too.

if you want to let me know what you’re wanting to trade I’m more than happy to help out & find good deals, though I haven't been doing a lot of trading recently except for any RLCS items I've received.

RLCS season 4 begins this weekend, and apparently reward drops available each stream. For NZ, it'll start 7am Sunday, and 4am Monday.
