I'll be down mate.  Haven't played this yet & with all the content I have to check out at the moment, I really need an excuse to play it.

That would be dope!  It would be nice to get a '67 'stang (GT350-esque) with a Benny's downgrade to that!  I'm still holding out hope for an AH64 - not that the Savage & Buzzard are useless, but why the hell not?!  ...it wouldn't hurt them to add operable guns & missiles/rockets to the DB5 either.  & while they're at it, why not bring back the Jetpack?!

#755590 Who are your all time favourite bands/musicians?

Posted by MadCant on 04 May 2017 - 05:31 PM

Interesting choice to kick off this awesome list of music but...

1. wasn't White Slavery off World Coming Down..?

2. Slaughtered was definitely on Far Beyond Driven,

3. Stripsearch was off Album of the Year, & from memory

4. Heart of Stone was from Iron Fist.

Everything below Hendrix... I have no idea.  Given there's more than one or two of these discrepancies, I wonder if you were trying to see if anybody actually reads this..?

I would have gone with Please Don't Judas Me (Hair of the Dog) - this would make my top 10 - 20 favourite songs, but still love Razamanaz - it's a great album.

I'm going to have to think long & hard about a shortlist of fave songs to add to this - that should be fun!

No man look at the first comment, it says favourite songs and albums.  I was naming my favourite album by that artist thats all, should have gone to Spec Savers :P

Aha - that makes waaaay more sense.  I went to Spec Savers but I was too much of a cheapskate to buy a pair  :headphone:

#752428 Persona 5 is out today - who own one?

Posted by MadCant on 06 April 2017 - 05:41 PM

Once they added HDD expansion in the last major update, I nipped straight out & bought a 2.5" 2TB USB3.0 External HDD for just over $100, temporarily ending my storage limitation problems & blowing my data cap for the month with updates & DLC's for all the games I'd deleted to make room for new garb.  Honestly I'd rather have a larger HDD in my PS4, but this solution works fine.

#745773 Applying to Board of Review for a review of the Gal*Gun ban

Posted by MadCant on 17 February 2017 - 05:17 PM

A few things I thought I'd add my 10c on...

Children need protecting.

As a father (I wouldn't normally write that, but feel that for some reason this adds a level of weight in this conversation, as I cannot compare the level of love & concern I have for my children to anything else in my life - perhaps this adds bias..?), I completely agree.  However, I'm not sure that banning this title will in any way protect a single child from anything.  The irony (as eluded to earlier by others both here & in the original article) is that if anything, Gal Gun's banning has created a level of awareness for a title that I for one wouldn't otherwise have known about.

I read a suggestion in here about customs simply blocking this... maybe I misread it, but if not - have you not heard of illegal downloads?  How could NZ Customs possibly counter that?!  They could stop some physical copies coming in, but even then, the likelihood they'd stop all imports of banned physical media is slim to none.

Another argument in here is that millions of people play (as an example) GTAV daily but don't as a result go about blowing people's heads off with guns, or mowing down ped's with their vehicles, etc, etc IRL... fair enough, but here's a thought... how many peeps do you reckon would have jerked off to their character having a lap dance in the White Unicorn? - while I have no cold hard facts, I'd be willing to bet there's more than a handful that have.  We are far more connected in games than most would admit to or even realise.  So many games toy with our emotions in so many ways.  In many situations we don't simply relate/empathise to a character (as you would in a movie or TV show), in many instances you take on & become the character you're playing.  Who here knows somebody who has destroyed a controller/monitor/whatever in a fit of rage over a game..?  Or lost their sh*t at somebody outside the game environment due to a game?  Now, tell me games don't have an effect on your mental state, or real life for that matter - of course they do.  Is it far-fetched to think that playing a subjective game (no matter how vague, corny, or comedic) could stimulate sexual emotions in paedo's, possibly even triggering them do something they previously had not intended on doing..?

Something to consider... whether right or wrong, I am of the opinion that child porn' (also snuff porn, etc) should be banned/illegal.  So I ask you to contemplate: at what point does paedophilia become banned?  To enforce an opinion such as mine, one has to draw a line in the sand at some point, though how does one easily & clearly define a point of acceptability?  Surely there has to be a bit of a grey area surrounding this & at what point censorship should apply - given the subject at hand (not specifically this game), wouldn't all but paedo's prefer for our censorship to err a little toward the side of caution..?

So far as this game goes, I haven't played it & don't have an opinion either way.  I'm sick of the nanny state bull we put up with daily, but I'm not sure if this censorship is/isn't part of that.  More than anything, I'm really interested to see how this process plays out.

#737739 GTAO Community Night Archive

Posted by MadCant on 30 November 2016 - 06:04 PM

Damn, two subs in one day... this is getting out of hand!  That's an increase of 100% on top of 100%, that's like 100%^2!

Despite a rapidly increasing demand I think I'm going to have to add some additional hype before the craze wears off, perhaps by hinting at exclusivity to this subscription...  I think I'll initially start by stating that this Newsletter is limited to only 1000 subscribers worldwide.  Then I can release a lite version for half the price, delivered a week earlier, with double the content, in full colour & for the first 10,000 new sub's I'll throw in a free origami bottle opener!  This would of course take place a week after I've received preorders from my initial 1000 sub's.

I love that at the bottom of the stuff article they reference a study showing video games don't cause violence as though this proves it wrong.

I get the impression that the parents are completely blameless here too.

^The kids aren't to blame, the parents aren't to blame, society isn't to blame, it's that damned video box thingy that kids these days are always wasting their time on - that's what's to blame!  Clearly the answer is to censor out all driving within any games featuring any form of driving, so that morons aren't encouraged to try & drive cars IRL.  Problem solved.

I'm doing the next four Sundays to make it to two years then that's me I'm out as I think I've done my dash until red dead comes out, and to be honest I'm tired of the moaners. ill post the forum tomorrow. I only merged into here as to write a clean sheet.

Mate, we're all very different people so you're never going to suit everybody's tastes in all the events we play.  Frankly, I reckon you've always had a good variety (which keeps things fresh) & I'd like to think I speak for most of us in saying that you've done a bloody good job of running this (at least since MJ & I have been joining in on the fun).  So that's a big thanks from me!  ...& about as soppy a message as you'll ever get from me, so harden the f*** up old man.
