Hi there, couple weeks ago my old EVGA GTX 580 finally gave up on me. So I finally found a real reason to upgrade my system. Bought a Asus Strix GTX 970 OC Edition (from Extreme PC) and I'm excited to know I won't be struggling with 1.5 GB of video memory anymore, I still haven't really tested the card out yet except jumping on Diablo III. Have been occupied with the release of MGS V and GTA Online Freemode DLC.

Anyways, I am not a hard out PC gamer and only really play for fun. I only recently got into computers and builds etc. after investing in this first set up of mine.

Pics were taken from my S6 Edge:

Is there anyway we can name and shame or kick out crew members that kill their own fellow crew members? I have struck it twice tonight alone where I have been killed by a random that just happens to be NZGamer and on purpose (I'm not meaning an accidental kill or an agreed to get rid of bounty kill). Kind of defeats the whole purpose of being in a crew if your going to kill your own and whereas before I trusted and would go and assist any fellow NZGamer crew now I will hold off unless its one of the regulars who posts here or that I have seen taking part in the Community nights.

Hey bro its me VISDAK I had an experience with a couple of our members of the crew too, usernames were exellegence and Djjono I think that's how they were spelled?

1st encounter (exellegence): killed me as I came out of the mod shop, didn't think he would as I saw that he was NZGM and as soon as the spawn invincibility turned off sprayed me with his uzi. I messaged asking 'wtf was that for' and just casually replies as if no biggie, 'just did it for the money'.. - nah yeah, nice way to introduce your self to me bro, you could have asked me nicely if you wanted the bounty money, he even had the nerve to try steal my bike as soon as I died but had vehicle access turned off. Annnd... sent me a friend request!

2nd encounter (Djjono): I spawn in a session after doing a mission or a race, end up out in the middle of Blaine County near the big air field and then few seconds after getting into my customized 4x4 that the mechanic had dropped off a guy called Ron_Scythe or something comes in with a buzzard and destroys my truck and of course kills me... when I respawn I make a run for the buzzard that I know spawns at the end of the airfield and manage to get into it, I see a blue dot making its way towards me and see that its one of the NZGM. Fly towards him to give him a lift, soon as I land next to him I see him drawing his weapon and realize hes trying to jack me for the chopper? tried to fly away but was too late and head shots me while my Passive mode is on (so much for that feature aye?). I end up having to make a run for another buzzard, at first I was seeking to get back at Ron_scythe for blowing up my truck but the fact that this was a NZGM crew member that did this I could now care less for my truck and just try fight fire with fire with this Djjono dude. Gave a call to Lester to take me off the radar and went after him in the buzzard as he was just close by and, I fire both missiles at him and got him on 2nd try. Then I found out later on, both him and Ron_Scythe hop in the same vehicle and start chasing me and the story goes on.

Are these actions by our crew members acceptable? I know it's GTA and WE CAN kill each other if we wanted to, but what is the point of being with each other in crews if we are only going to do this to one another?. I think that Passive mode should also be totally 100% be invincible and not be able to be killed by being blown up, run over by cars or head shot as a weakness to that feature.

Wow, haha! just reading some of your guys mini reviews and feedback about this game is cool! Makes me want to gooff the computer this instance and just jam again! - I'm just taking a break from it after last nights sessions.

But some of the stuff you guys have mentioned I have not done myself, I've been letting both my bro and sis (all well above the age of 18 of course lol), and my partner play some too.

I remember the last time me and my siblings played the last GTA game was either Vice City or San Andreas?, so this game has also served another purpose for my family.. kind of brought us all back together (sorta) all in my room, surround sound blasted almost to full volume to get that immersed feelings and sound etc. My partner in the other hand... just can't play this game...

So I have yet to enter the codes that I got with my Collector's Ed, and I have been searching all over the place and have not seen a helicopter that I can fly. I have tried a jet liner from the airport, which I had to run my ass off to get to because you automatically get 3 stars I think once you tress pass there. Does anyone know where I can get a chopper? just want to try all the driving mechanics at this moment to see if its easy just like in GTA IV.

- I even did an un-boxing of the CE and will upload on my Utube shortly.

Previously in the early hours of Tuesday morning...

quite a large crowd turned up at the Mighty Ape launch in Albany... didnt get home until like 1? and started playing at 2!

Game is awesome as FLIP! driving and shooting mechanics might need some time to get used to but I already like it, and I found Grove Street like I said I would do first thing I'd get in the game!

*Wonders* If I'm too old to be going to a midnight launch... Let alone by myself haha

Nahh never too old!.. I'm 24 and when I see people older than me at midnight releases like this one I think nothing of them and just see them as other gamers, enthusiasts or just some one keen to get their game ASAP?

With less than 11 more hours until we can officially get our hands on the most anticipated game of our generation (lol exaggerate).. But I reckon it is with all the hype, advertisements and over all everything!

I can't help but keep stalking the GTA V forums and read their some times interesting and MOST times ridiculous threads and came across one thread that was titled 'What are you guys gonna do when the game is installing?'

Out of curiosity I wanted to ask a similar question to the one originally created above and ask the same thing and more with you fellow kiwi gamers and just so we could make things here fun? - sorry you don't have to answer this but..

What is your itinerary for the next 24 hours prior/after to the game releasing?

My schedule today will be:

3-5pm: Pick up the misses from her class at uni then head to Pak'N'Save (because NZ's lowest food prices) to shop for snacks, food, water, loads of energy drinks and other supplies.

5-7pm: Watch some recently *acquired* movies with dad and misses if shes keen and have the last dinner with the family for the week.

7-10pm: Surf the net, check daily sites like Facebook, uTube, Instgram, Tumblr, Vine etc. Letting existing friends/family back home know I'll be gone for the week.

10-11pm: Get dressed and prepare for the exciting long drive to Mighty Ape from South.

11:45-12am: Try arrive ahead of everyone to get dibs in front of the line amongst other GTA fans. Start queuing in to pay for and get Collector's Edition box.

12-2am: Place CE box in passenger seat and buckle it up then drive safely but surely back home, so is to make it in one piece to be alive to actually play the game. Get home, quickly un-box the game, pop in disc and commence the 8GB install. Read game booklet, examine all other contents inside the box and gaze at the blue print MAP.

2am onwards: After install finishes, switch off cell phone, unplug land line in the room and prepare mind, body and soul for imminent mind blowing experience...

It's a rough idea of my sched today/tonight but you get the idea... If y'all would like to share your plans then feel free! :headphone:

Posted by ECR33 on 09 September 2013 - 01:55 PM

Some of you may have seen my previous post of how I bought my new home theater system in the 'I Just Bought...' thread, well here it is finally set up.

Finally got the project done and dusted, what has been planned and saved up for from weeks of spare wages and days off work has finally come together.

My gaming set up for 2013 updated and improved (a bit) - dedicated for GTA V! - 7 more dayzzz!!!

Started working on this yesterday since I had nothing going on Sunday. Right after lunch I started ripping out the old wiring, painted and mounted the timber for support for the TV on to the back of the desk, and re-wiring the whole thing again to make it tidier and safer. All this with the help of my partner who understands my 'immature addictions' so she likes to call it..

Nothing over the top - just had to work with the space I had in the room. (Few wires there in the back that I need to hide later, when I can buy a longer HDMI cable)

Rear surround speakers was tricky to get right both with the same height and angle measurements etc. - I am a really picky person when it comes to placement of things such as speakers like this and stuff. I'm no qualified installer that's for sure, mostly just trial and error.

This is the best home cinema system I have invested in, I have only calibrated the system using the YPAO tool and played music using the PS3 and so far it sounds mad-awesome just like a true HT system should.

The GTA V Collector's Edition box will be sitting up there in the early hours of Tuesday morning next week!

Annnnnd... trying to be artsy with the camera lol

PS. forgot to take a picture of the woofer, wooopsy!

Apparently the ending has been leaked, so I guess if you don't want it spoiled be careful where you get your info from.

Oh man., do hope I don't come across any leaks by mistake. That would just be... *don't want to think about it*

Anyways, NEW SCR33NS released from Rockstar!!! yuss..
