#779931 Games You've Actually Completed Recently

Middle Earth Shadow of War.

Well when I say complete I mean got to act 4 which is now just all the regions being unlocked, new and tougher orcs spawning constantly and I can summon zombie orcs so just end game stuff really. But yeah all quests done, collectibles found and all other side stuff done.

Overall yeah it's Shadow of Mordor with new stuff and bigger emphasis on the domination side of things. Gameplay is as good as the previous one with my only gripe being the Nazgul fights which were just the same each time not really a challenge.

On the online stuff like the marketplace... I have no idea what that is like as on steam at least it wants you to sign an agreement which after a read and seeing it I told them to stuff it the game decided to punish me by not letting me do online sieges vs other players and not accessing the marketplace... my exact response to that when I saw it was to raise my hands and say in the most sarcastic way possible "oh no whatever will I do." Still for acts 1 to 3 at least which is the core of it I never saw any point to even thinking of getting crates as I was getting decent enough stuff and orcs not to need it.

So is it possible to actually finish the story without the lootbox bullshit? Havent played SoW yet.

Sort of. 99.99% of the story is done by the end of act 3. You then have what is called The shadow wars which is act 4. Basically how it works is you have to go 10 stages of sieges in the games maps with each stage becoming harder so you have to level up your orcs or get new ones etc each time. Once you've beaten stage 10 the cutscene plays which sums up what happens afterwards in 2 minutes. So yeah possible but a grind. Really my suggestion is complete act 3 and then watch the cutscene on you tube because that's really it.

#774871 Total War: Warhammer

Posted by darklordfoamy on 15 October 2017 - 10:26 AM

For the DLC the race packs are usually pretty good with the Beastmen being the most enjoyable, Norsca and Chaos Warriors are enjoyable as well while Wood Elves are okay but I find there victory condition to just be a pain to do especially as they are limited with what they can build outside of there starting area.

The Grim and the Grave and The King and the Warlord are nice additions as well adding a new legendary lord and some units to the 4 main factions but not essential.

For mods the primary ones I use are Radious Mod and Radious Unit mod that adds a whole bunch of new units to all the factions and makes the AI more aggressive and build better armies making them more of a threat and a challenge. Conquer Anywhere because it just didn't make sense that things like Orcs can't take over Human settlements because they do... granted they are more fancy looking war camps but still. The rest I have are minor ones I just use for fluff reasons like Legendary Lord Unique Starting Positions that puts each of the lords where they are actually based in the lore e.g. with Orcs Grimgor stays where he is but Azhag moves all the way up north next to Kislev as that is where he raided until he found his fancy hat.

#769769 Please don't buy Shadow of War

Posted by darklordfoamy on 09 September 2017 - 09:30 AM

The loot boxes were what got me on the wait till it drops in a sale but after the whole cancer thing... yeah no your not getting sh*t from me. It really annoys me as Warner Brothers does sh*t like this quite often which is a shame because they do publish some great games like the Shadow of War series. But then they do sh*t like this and I just lose all interest.

#762170 What Are You Playing Right Now? Weekly / Daily Update

Posted by darklordfoamy on 23 July 2017 - 07:50 PM

Running dungeons in WOW as I level up some new characters and can't be arsed doing the early game zones again. Currently going Tauren Paladin and Worgen Hunter to go along with the Blood Elf Death Knight and Draenai Monk. I've also come to the conclusion after having tried Warlock, Priest and Mage that pure spell casters don't do it for me in WOW and not quite sure why.

Also Hearthstone with the wild casual matchmaking being as weird as ever with it switching me between meta decks and little timmy and his basic deck at will... the last one I am still trying to figure out why they are even playing wild.

After mucking around with the Un'Goro expansion I've gone back to playing good ol Yogg Saron decks in Hearthstone. Have to say think I've had one of the best moments today in a while where the Unstable Portal spell combined with Primordial Glyph this happened.

2 9 mana 4/12 dragons that increase all my spell damage by 5 each on turn 7 in a deck with a crap ton of spells... yeah the opponent lasted 2 turns before dying horribly.

Also replaying the command and conquer series again. Currently up to Tiberium Sun and still debating if I want to force myself to try C&C4 again or just stop after beating Red Alert 3.

#738490 Today I....

Posted by darklordfoamy on 06 December 2016 - 08:42 PM

One of the staff at my main office decided to do the one thing you shouldn't do to a IT technician with some spare time. That is of course dare them to do something. A few of them were joking about locking their computers and she just so happened to mention that not even I could do stuff. I said that is right in theory but she shouldn't so confident and then she dared me to do it while she was at lunch. Yeah she was right I couldn't unlock the PC... did know it's name on the network and one \\PCName\c$ later with my admin account I had free reign. She was a little surprised to come back to several folders now being on her desktop saying "Don't dare me again or it will be worse." Was kind of tempted to just deactivate all the apps and hide the folders but decided to hold that one off till later in case someone dares me again.

Starcraft 2 Co-op. Being using Alarak and love how is basically a one man army and the rest of his troops are just fodder to keep him alive. Oh so satisfying just charging through a wave of zerg and watching them all die.

Also been playing the Carbot mod and look how cute it is.

#732298 Games You've Actually Completed Recently

Posted by darklordfoamy on 18 October 2016 - 06:54 PM

Total War Warhammer. Finally completed all the campaigns for the races. Overall Orcs and Goblins were by far my favorite as they function just like they do in the game and while animosity is something to watch out there was nothing more satisfying then leading a massive WAAAAAGH to glory. That Grimgor Ironhide once upgraded can just walk into a unit and beat the sh*t out of it which is actually quite accurate to how he is in the lore.

The Vampire Counts were also great as while siege wise they have next to nothing the ability to just raise fresh troops like they do meant recovering losses easy so you constantly put on the pressure.

The dwarves while slow make one heck of a good gun line as usual the fact they added the book of grudges is just awesome.

The Empire were the most eh. Mainly because they are the Empire and just bog standard human force so just played like a normal force. Also being dead centre in the map usually had me having to fight multiple fronts even early on which was a pain so had to spend more time with diplomacy with them so took the longest to do with the most restarts.

Warriors of Chaos... god that was challenging. Being pure horde and not having cities made for quite a long fight especially when the chaos gods decided to screw around with me as well. Still enjoyable though as yes not a huge army there infantry and troops being chaotic are really good and beat most other units in their appropriate class.

So yep enjoyed it and loved the Beastmen and other stuff that they've added as well. Now Creative Assembly when are you going to add the Skaven? I want to conquer the land with Grey Seer Thanquol already.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided. It's basically Human Revolution 2.0 but still enjoying it and the usual RPG fair has occurred with me as I've been playing for 5 hours and still haven't done the first non prologue story mission yet. Instead I've been doing about 6 side missions and being a dick with Augments e.g. accidentally finding my superiors apartment, him then calling me asking me where the hell I am and me moving his fridge in front of his front door so he can't get in as a response. I'll do the main quest when I'm damn well ready game now if you'll excuse me this persons apartment's security system is level 5 so to high so going to break in by punching a hole through their bathroom wall.

Posted by darklordfoamy on 20 August 2016 - 07:22 PM

So ended up just being me and Wugga last night but games were enjoyable both going 10-10 in the end.

Still out of all the fights this was by far the closest of them all.
