Everyone loves Pink Floyd, so whats your favourite song?

I'd have to go with Goodbye Blue Sky, also extra points for having such an awesome section of The Wall movie.

Nothing tops Another Brick in the wall (part II :P) for 'timelessness' (If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?! etc...), and it is probably my favourite in non-musical terms - ie: the one that gives me the warmest fuzzies.

But the one that sticks in my head the most is 'Welcome to the machine', so I'll vote that way.

im of the opinion that the wall is overated, and personally prefer darkside as an experimental album, however my all time favourite floyd song isn't on either.
my favorite pink floyd song is "coming back to life"
the 12 (odd) minute chunk that is "take it back" running onto "coming back to life" really makes the division bell one of my all time favorite albums.

its also probably the song i'll want played at my funeral

The entire Wall album is probably my favourite listening, though it requires start to finish listening.

Comfortably Numb live at P*U*L*S*E made me jizz the first time I heard it.

Time is probably my favourite standard song.

Other notable mentions include Dogs, Pigs, Sheep, Echoes, Another Brick in the Wall (all parts), Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, High Hopes, Julia Dream and Atom Heart Mother.

*bump old topic* My fave band so meh.

I've gotten more albums since I posted in this topic and discovered more songs. Picked fave song from each album I have in order of fave album. But the order of songs might not be in order of fave lol. EG I like Shine on your Crazy Diamond more than Pigs.

Dark Side of the Moon - Money
Animals - Pigs
Wish You Were Here - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
The Wall - Comfortably Numb
Meddle - One of these days
The Division Bell - Marooned
A Momentary Lapse of Reason - Sorrow
The Final Cut - Not now John

Also I'd rate The Wall much higher because it's got some amazing songs. However I only like 10 out of 26. All the rest is crappy filler. So 10/26 is only 38% good songs. While Darkside is 100% good songs no filler BS.

I also really like David Gilmour solo albums. If you're a PF fan you should check them out especially his first one.

I'm probably more a fan of the 'Gilmour' era.. The Barrett era stuff is just too wacky for me... For me the Wish You Were Here and Dark Side of the Moon albums are probably my favourite... I'm also one to note overly rate The Wall... it's iconic, but its not my favourite music of theirs.... aside from Comfortably Numb..

My mrs has almost all of it on vinyl... (she may not have the newer stuff)... and the majority of it on CD... actually technically she now does have all of it on CD as I bought her this... http://www.mightyape...ox-Set/1550946/

Astronomy Domine, See Emily Play, Arnold Layne....

I love the Syd Barrett era songs. Something about the crazy, psychedelic unstructured way the music sounds to me I guess, especially with headphones (and stoned back in high school).

Having said that, I love belting out Wish You Were Here on the acoustic guitar but I think that's more of an indication of my woeful playing ability!
