Had an original gameboy with Super Mario Land, Tetris, Street Fighter (it was terrible, think it only had 5 or 6 characters) and Zelda-Links Awakening. Also had this awesome attachment which the gameboy sat in with a cover over it. Gave it a joy stick, screen magnifier, night light, could store 3 games and had beefed up speakers which plugged into the gameboys jack... Boom.

Speaking of Cash Converters. In my young days I hardly ever got anything new, but 2nd hand I could often convince my parents a bit easier. So my first GB was actually a red fat one (before the remodel) I got from Cash Converters. I still remember it vividly lol.

What made it even better was that I got it with Link's Awakening too so I was pretty set right from the start, very happy!

I miss the days of going on a family road trip and visiting every Cash Converters and that type of store we could find! Retro games at decent prices before every man and his dog became a collector. You never knew what gem you could come across.

Later I got a silver GB Pocket for my birthday which was a much nicer system than the original fat one (which my little brother then inherited), but ol' red fat still holds a special place in my heart.

My gameboy advance sp was the start of my gaming, parents gave it to me with a rally game, i so badly want to play that game again, i miss the co-driver telling me to 'get back on the road' over and over, I would pay a lot of money to get my hands on that game again.

Then i discovered pokemon and played that a lot with mates from school, still remember my closest friend claiming she finished it in 20 minutes, oh how i laughed at her that day

man thinking about it now i really want to get a gameboy again and play all those old games. Off to trademe i go

I remember my cousins always brung there gameboys to the Lonestar for me and my little sister to play Pokemon on. I remember I used to love it and eventually got A Gameboy Advanced Sp for Christmas along with Spyro 2 Season of Flame and Sonic Advanced which I was stoked about! Still works to this day.

Haha yes, batteries!

I remember stealing them out of TV remotes etc, whole piles of them never knowing what ones were 'fresh' and stuff.

Do not miss those days at all, GBA SP was a glorious new era to me simply because of no batteries!

I actually have a set of rechargeable ones now and a docking thingy for my Wiimotes and that works really well, probably wouldn't have been such a pain in the old GB days if I had one of them back then too.

I even had the stupid zoom screen add on with the light. Had a see though original fat one with Super Mario World 2 (I think) didn't really get into it until Pokemon Blue though.

EDIT : Actually I really got into a motorbike game for awhile, pretty much like Trials HD but way simpler, I got it at Heathrow and played it all the way to LAX while Dantes Peak was playing on the plane. Ah those childhood memories that come out of the depths of your brain.

You should be able to get an emulator quite easy online, I think there's a few for android phones as well, in the App Store
