The Fountain 8/10

Sci Fi/Romance. But not crappy hollywood "I don't do physics sci fi", but a love story spanning a 1000 years. Set in the New World in the 16th century, today and 500 years in the future.

Is basically a 2 person movie with Hugh Jackman (Wolverine cries!) and Rachel Weisz.

A complicated movie so best not to watch with....lets just call them...dumbass friends, as you will have to explain why you are getting all choked up at the symmetry and beauty.

the departed 6/10.

it was well done for a remake of infernal affairs(?) but knowing what pretty much was going to happen killed it for me.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Gets a solid 4/5 from me. Darker and more sombre, it's also a lot more violent. It doesn't, however, sacrifice the laughs, and it does a good job of tying up most of the loose ends. It's not the best one, but it's pretty epic and doesn't disappoint like so many third movies tend to.

Take the Lead, which I saw an hour ago, is freaking awesome. It's got a great soundtrack, smooth moves and sweet story.

Pirates was better than Spiderman 3. But the lack of certain things annoyed me.

Apparently theres a clip after the credits too. Which I cant mention, coz it would be a spoiler no matter how I worded it.

Blood Diamond (3rd time watching it) ****

Not going to bother with Pirates, I thought 2 was a gigantic mess so I have no real reason to be enthusiastic about the 3rd. Even Depp bored me in Dead Man's Chest. And I f***en love Depp!

Black sheep - **** - good kiwi comedy/horror with some great gore scenes involving killer sheep and some very kiwi humor.

Spiderman 3 - *** - Not quite as good as the first 2 (esp #2), mainly because the story got kinda confusing in places however seing spidey turn dark is pretty cool

pirates 3 (at worlds end) - *** - Pretty f***ed up, (especially the hallucination bits), defenently the experimental one of the 3. Still worth a watch though (just take to account that this is just under 3 hours long)

Ok, so I caved.

And I actually really enjoyed it! 3.5 stars. Will probably get it on DVD, or at least in the inevitable boxset.

Going to a special early screening of Bridge to Terabithia tomorrow - should be awesome - I love the book and the art design reminds me of Bryan Froud's work (one of my favourite artists) so it's an undefeatible combination.

Art School Confidential 3/5
the story is ok and it has some very funny moments
i had a good laugh at the setting because if anyone has been to an art school like the learning connexion here in welly you will notice how similar it is to strathmore and it is filled with all the same types of people.
