Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice – a psychological action game from Ninja Theory – sold over 500,000 copies, just three months after launch. While the figure might seem small compared to the likes of something like Destiny 2 or PUBG, the feat is impressive for one very important reason: the studio developed the game without a publisher.
The game is smaller in scope than most titles, and Ninja Theory priced it accordingly; opting for around $50 instead of your standard $100. While there were risks involved, it appears the studio’s hard work paid off, as they’re starting to turn a profit.
