With less than a month to go, time to thread up.

H2x1_NSwitch_SuperMarioOdyssey.jpg

I've not watched a lot of vids, certainly not extended playthroughs, but short previews like this are perfect. The feedback so far has been phenomenal; gameplay and exploration harking back to Galaxy, and freedom and experimentation akin to Breath of the Wild.

Release date is 27th Oct.

So who's grabbing, and from where? I'm preordering for Day 1, at this stage most likely from Mighty Ape.

I bought a Switch primarily for Zelda and Mario Odyssey, so am most definitely grabbing this on release day. Mario 64 is one of my favourite games ever so finally getting a spiritual successor to that game is pretty exciting stuff.

I'll pick up the digital version from Amazon. I've avoided most footage/screens and am excited to discover the crazy worlds & secrets they've dreamed up this time.

I'll be walking into whatever local store has the 'cheapest' (if you can consider any price in NZ 'cheap') price and grabbing it early on release morning! Can't wait!

My most anticipated game of the holiday season and late birthday present to myself!

Edge Magazine has published the first review, and it's a 10/10!

Still holding off on a switch purchase.  This could be the motivation.  I just hope its still Super Mario and they haven't changed it too much.

Guys, there’s a Super Mario 64 sequel coming out tomorrow.

I’m pretty glad to have seen much or been following this very closely, it’s really snuck up quickly.

Can’t wait to sit down tomorrow night with a glass of whisky and dive in!

First thing I did this morning was check out the reviews. So many 10/10 and 5/5s - even a 6/5! Pretty confident it’ll be a decent game!

Dammit, looks like a Switch purchase (which to be honest I really cant afford at the moment) is on the cards.

Played 45 minutes on my lunch break, now wiping my save to go home and start from scratch with my 5 year old. Feels like this is going to be a pretty special memory for him (like when my Mother bought me an Atari 2600 + Yars Revenge many, many years ago)

Awesome game, had a massive grin on my face while playing.

It's pretty good. Very Mario which is a good thing.

I let my Pro Controller go flat, so started off with the normal controller. Thiks is definetly a game you want a pro controller for. Sooo much nicer once I was able to power that sucker up.

The worlds are getting more interesting as I progress, but don't quite have the same wow factor as the first time I played Mario 64 or Galaxy yet. Really enjoying it, but worried about how quickly I seem to be powering through it, Some nice touches and fitting music. I think these 10/10 scores popping up everywhere might be a little over the top, but very enjoyable so far.

New Donk City was actually pretty neat despite me having my doubts, fits into the game well. I hated this level at first though until I did the first objective. Damn that music was annoying. Liking the level I did immediatly after this too.

Probably enough for today. Better remember to charge my pro controller some more for tomorrow night.
