I like such a wide variety of stuff that it's hard to pick favourites

So much is based on mood, but after some thought, the following are ones I will enjoy ANY time (and yes, I will quite happily shuffle power metal with sappy country music)

Muse
Favourite album really depends on my mood, but I'm really enjoying Drones (still) and pick off that is currently Aftermath
And Explorers off The 2nd Law

Rhapsody/Rhapsody of Fire
Favourite album would be Triumph or Agony (no favourite song because it's a bit hard to split them out that way)

Lady Antebellum
Run to you, Golden and Hello World, but can't pick a favourite album.

AWOLNATION also one I'll often put on
Best song there is unarguably Knights of Shame off Megalothic Symphony

John Mayer
Favourite is I Will Be Found from Paradise Valley

Dire Straits
Telegraph Road off Love Over Gold

Sixx: A.M.

Stars though it is quite possibly one of my favourite songs of all time. As for album I'm gonna have to give it to This is Gonna Hurt as I literally wouldn't be alive without it.

Motley Crue

Kickstart my Heart cause it's just a rockin tune. I know its a cop out but my fave album is the Red, White and Crue Deluxe Edition I know its technically a greatest hits but I always have a copy of it everywhere I go.

Shinedown

Call Me just a beautiful song that I identify with so much. Somewhere in the Stratosphere is easily one of the greatest live albums i have ever heard and that Acoustic disc, nnfff.

Manowar

Gawd, hard to choose a fave song of theirs I mean I love Hail and Kill, Manowar, Battle Hymn, Heart of Steel, The Gods Made Heavy Metal, hard to choose between those. Same goes for an album too hard to choose between Battle Hymns and Kings of Metal.

Megadeth

A Tout Le Monde just so so beautiful. For an album I'd go with The World Needs a Hero as its such an under rated released byt them.

Lordi

Blood Red Sandman, one of those songs that I can never skip. The Monsterican Dream its easily their most solid entry and imo was their best lineup.

Nothing beats Pulp. Sheffield: Sex City probably for best song but there are so many choices! His 'N' Hers for the most perfect album ever.

Avril Lavigne especially the first two albums but the later ones certainly have their moments. A shame she keeps having issues and has never made it over here to concert!

The XX have not put much of a foot wrong thus far. I Dare You from the latest album would be my call for best.

Blur has stood the test of time also, and changed plenty along the way. I still think some of their best work was in b-sides, especially Theme from an Imaginary Film.

Beck has done some great stuff, especially Mutations, another album that holds together really well. His more melancholy stuff was great to a point, but I've lost interest a bit.

Okay!

Throwing Muses

They did my favourite album of all time (the 1986 self-titled one) and my favourite song (Hate My Way).

Sleater-Kinney

My favourite album of theirs is One Beat. Favourite song is a tough one, I'm gonna go with Entertain.

Propagandhi

Today's Empires Tomorrow's Ashes and Without Love.

I want to list more bands but then I wouldn't know where to stop. These have been the consistent top three for me since 2009ish.

I could go on for ages which "favourite bands". I just got a new phone with more space and have about 30 bands downloaded because I listen to them frequently.

I was kinda over Sail before it got big on the radio lol  It's a good song though.

Megalithic Symphony is all pretty much of a muchness, kinda eccentric especially with the little interjection tracks.

Run is a lot darker.

As an album whole I prefer Run, but my favourite song is off Megalithic.

Interesting choice to kick off this awesome list of music but...

1. wasn't White Slavery off World Coming Down..?

2. Slaughtered was definitely on Far Beyond Driven,

3. Stripsearch was off Album of the Year, & from memory

4. Heart of Stone was from Iron Fist.

Everything below Hendrix... I have no idea.  Given there's more than one or two of these discrepancies, I wonder if you were trying to see if anybody actually reads this..?

I would have gone with Please Don't Judas Me (Hair of the Dog) - this would make my top 10 - 20 favourite songs, but still love Razamanaz - it's a great album.

I'm going to have to think long & hard about a shortlist of fave songs to add to this - that should be fun!

Everyone knows Deathcab's best album is Transatlanticism and Propagandhi's is Potemkin City Limits. Points for effort though ;)

Band - Album - Song [which is not necessarily from the same album]

Number one for sure is The Lawrence Arms - The Greatest Story Ever Told - Turnstiles

Additional favs:

Crime In Stereo - The Troubled Stateside - Gravity/Grace

The Menzingers - On The Impossible Past - Burn After Writing

Hot Water Music - Fuel for the Hate Game - It's Hard To Know

Propagandhi - Potemkin City Limits - Fedallah's Hearse

Otherwise there are favourite ALBUMS which aren't necessarily by my favourite BANDS...

e.g. Cursive - The Ugly Organ

       Jimmy Eat World - Clarity

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can't believe my favorite vocalist of all time from any genre of music has passed away.

So glad I got to see Chris Cornell when he last toured New Zealand back in 2015.

I was born in 1982 and Soundgarden were massive to me in the 90's and still are to this day. What a loss for music. RIP
