I'll probably pick up DQ8 soonish, was pretty keen on getting 7 but judging by most reviews 8 is an improvement in many areas. Only downer is that I prefer the cool chibi characters in 7.

I'm finding 7 very grindy and combat very repetitive. Apart from that, it's a neat game.
But yes, I'm expecting great things from 8.

I've preordered 8 and bought 7 from NZGameshop.

Haven't played DQ before so why not.

Cool, look forward to your first impressions.
NZG prices really good for both games.

Yea I do like to shop in NZ to support local business etc.  But I couldn't look past those prices for both games.

Dragon Quest is a series I knew about for years but just never had the chance to dabble but since Dragon Quest Builders came out (not that I've actually played that yet anyway) its been tickling my curiosity nerve at the front of my brain.

To me,
DQ3 is the best of all to me (maybe because of job system)
DQ7 is very enjoyable, boring from the start and after getting self together it's so fun.

In early years, they use trilogy for the series. there are a dialogue talked about character from another part in the other part of the game.
1 to 3 for Roto Legend
4 to 6 for Sky Legend
Then from part 7, they do not connect the story anymore.

10?

Are you playing the Japanese version?

DQ11 is coming out soon, and even there no word about a possible localisation ...

I was playing DQ8 on my 3DS until I got my switch and doubt I'll return any time soon.

Speaking of the Switch I also grabbed the demo for DQ Heroes 1+2 which is pretty decent, though I think I'm all 'Dynasty Warriors'd out so doubt I'll purchase.
