Yeeeeeyyyyyy that looks super. The photo shoot modes look unreal, like real.

Oh right, the 8 cars thing was for a pre-order bonus. It's not like you only get 8 cars to start with.

It looks good.
After playing project cars for a year- I kinda lost a bit of interest in GT but all this info reignited it.

Plus I found out that I can get my PS VR on day one- so I am excited.

The graphics look nice. i wonder what kind of build that demo was from. PS4 vs PS3 though right. I like how he spun out, but theer were other points in rhe race where he was a bit sketchy and i thought he should've spun. I wonder how the physics will turn out, in terms of GT driver friendliness vs realism and frustration. :)

I still find it easier to drive and control cars in Gran Turismo than Forza. Playing Forza Horizon 2 and Forza 6 a little bit lately, and with F6 the cars just don't have enough tyre grip.

Still find it the other way around.GT is near impossible to enjoy with a controller, cars float around and then have too much grip with race tyres fitted.
Make sure you don't have sim steering on.

Nah i have had that turned off since the first day i played the game. Nearly gave up on it completely because of that.

I particularly have a problem with countersteering in Forza 6 (not so much the older Forzas, usually it's the lack of traction slowing me down), as the corrections are too slow paced compared to the much more realistic snappy corrections in Gran Turismo. I know that realism in GT for a fact, as it's happened to me in real life a couple times, and it was definitely not slow paced like Forza. Not sure if Assetto Corsa or Project Cars have slow or snappy correction as haven't played them.

Forza 6's countersteering seems to almost roll, rather than snap? It's strange and hopefully i'm not the only one who notices this.

Because of that, when you think you've countered the slide finally, the car continues with overcorrection. I still haven't got the hang of it, and thus i can't really drift in Forza, which is what i had fun doing in F2, F3, F4 etc. Haven't played F5.

And i've found the cars in Gran Turismo to not be floaty/pivot pointy since GT5 i think? Even in replays you can see that unlike some car games (not so much Forza 6, they've tidied it up a lot compared to older Forzas) the cars seem to turn with weight transfer and tyre grip rather than being based on a central point like a scale model car on a display stand. GT1 and GT2 though - i can't even play GT1 any more because of this!

This isn't GT fanboyism here either, it's one thing that really stands out to me watching replays of cars in games, mainly because it distracts from reality. Thankfully less and less car games are pivot pointy these days now that they have found ways to 'solve' it.

As for the grip with race tyres i don't have anything to compare it to in real life (unless go karts count). I suspect they do have a crapload of grip (when warm), maybe not as much as GT6, but more than Forza from what i can remember? Don't drive racecars much, so will have to test it, but i think the slicks on F6 are gripper than they have been in past games. With race cars anyway.

I've played very little of Forza but my limited play time hadn't been great. Driving feels arcadey and loose to me.

Gt felt really good to me but Cars blows gt5/6 out of the water in terms of physics / sounds / graphics. I highly recommend it. (I only play using wheel / pedals)

It will be interesting if GT Sport compares. From the few videos I have seen- GT is still lacking in terms of sound and it's hard to tell about physics from replays but it looks a bit like the standard gt model to me.
Graphics look really good though. Can't wait to try these out using PS VR. I have informed my wife that the only way to contact me for the first week after getting the VR is through a ps message / joining party chat :D

Yeah, the sounds in GT Sport are not that great. The Ferrari and Audi race cars sound like the road cars would. And even then they still don't sound exciting enough. :( Not getting my hopes up for improved sound, nor crackles/backfires etc. GT4 so far has had the best backfires i think, then they quietened them down in latter games.

Project Cars hasn't really appealed to me, only because i play games for fun and don't have the dedication to be pinpoint precise with controlling virtual cars to enjoy it. Just seems a bit too involved, handling wise from what i've seen?
