It seems that the PS3 is being discontinued in New Zealand, current stock is all that's left. I don't know about you guys, but I'll likely get a 12gb version for the wardrobe until my current PS3's die.

Is it really the beginning of the end?

I would have thought the beginning of ps3's life would have been when the ps4 came out.

Course this could all be an elaborate plan to have people buy them

Sony says "last shipment"

people be like "I need to get one before they sell out"

Sony be "due to demand we've imported another shipment" [satisfied troll face]

I have seen this also..
Looked at Ebgames and Noticed there only selling Pre-Loved PS3's now..

Not a big deal as PS3 pretty Reliable.

Can get a 320Gb PS3 on Most Buy / Sell pages on Facebook for Under $120

This will Help the PS4 Prices in NZ. in my Option.
my PS3 was Stolen with over 25 Games.
Miss playing Uncharted / BF4 / The Last of Us...

nah the PS2 didn't stop production until around 2012/3 and it released in 2001 I think so that lasted way longer than PS3, in fact it was the most successful console ever.

Yea I'd say the point they cease production is getting near the end of the end. Stopping selling first hand copies of games would be the total end of the end.

The device to supersede it being released would be the beginning of the end as it's starting that process.

I actually assumed the conspiracy was that the Ps3 gives you so many features for free that you have to pay for on the Ps4 (i.e. skins, themes, multiplayer plus it holds all your movies/music) that they want to kill it off to begin cashing in.
