The XO version runs above 30fps but it can do that because it's not 1080p like the PS4 version (though it apparently does some auto 1080p thing in places?). The problem is that it's been unlocked and seeing FPS go all over the place between like 30-45 looks worse than solid 30fps so they are patching in a locked 30fps (unless it was the last patch. Hard to follow all the dates for different platforms). Rather than having drops like the PS4 version the XO version has had a different FPS problem that many were complaining about.

Also I am doing Alchemy. It was my focus in my first Witcher 2 run, always really liked the idea of using potions outside of just a healing / restorative manner. They've changed the alchemy system a bit in 3 however. Many potions that lasted like 10+ minutes before are more active and can only be used for like 20 seconds - 1 minute. Not to mention the limit you have until you meditate and restore them (before it was you make as many as you want as long as you got the herbs)

Doing a bit of a support build. Good points into Axii 2nd tier for mind control increased aard range and quen knock back. Light and heavy attack bottom tier and the oil bonus in alchemy.

The moon and stars (I think) trait perk to regen vitality during the day and the medium armor one for stamina recharge and sign intensity

Hey all, just grabbed this game yesterday morning, and before I knew it it's like 11pm. Excellent game. I was hoping for something like this when I bought DA:I, but I just really couldn't get into it.

Had a couple of frame rate drops come to think of it but it hasn't detracted from the experience, did hit the Devil in the Well glitch however. Nothing major, don't care, loving it anyway. I know what I'm gonna be doing all winter!

Yeah, I was a little concerned about that as well, but read a great article that explained everything. It's long but really informative and helped me understand what what happening.

Thanks for the link. I'm going to read it over the next few days sometime, as I've decided to buy the game on payday. Can't wait!

I like DA:I, and I hear this is a lot, lot better. I'm really trying to be good because TESO comes out today and I've also lost my life to Destiny, so I know I will either just add to the problem or I won't get around to playing this. But dear God it's tempting.

I like DA:I too and I can say for absolute certain this game is on a higher level. Easily the best game I've played so far this gen.

This game blows DA out of the water, every mission has wait and although they are still fetch quests and kill quests they feel important, plus the combat is great fun and it's so pretty.

Like Panda said, best game this gen so far.

Im enjoying it a lot...but I just cannot see how Im ever going to finish this? Its overwhelmingly huge. Unless I just stick to the main story, but then...whats the point.

Had a great moment the other night. was riding along a track, decided to go off road a bit...came across a cabin with a dude hanging in the tree. 'the usual' I thought. Went inside, saw the mum and a child on a bed, dead with flys all around them. Went back out side and saw a knocked over stool next to the hanging man. No other info around there...but man it was a cool little side narrative that you get to work out on your own.

The game's stupidly huge. Though I'm loving everything about it. New patch has fixed a lot of the FPS issues on PS4 too which is great.

I'm at the point when many of the best characters from the previous games (and even the books for the long term fans) are coming in. Also was one super cool reference to the 1st game which I greatly appreciated.

Decided to make a concerted effort to clear some those pesky question marks off my map last night, was doing okay until I got to a hidden treasure and a water hag appeared and one hit killed me. Was a bit if a shock but I kinda liked it.

No luckily I had saved or it had auto saved, I only had to re-do one.

After playing for around 12-14 hours I started a new game on Death March, I quickly returned to my normal difficulty game. My respects to your Witcher skills.

I will play on Death March, but not yet.

I beat 2 on Dark, wasn't that hard once you get the hang of it. Death March is much the same.

I'm playing on Death March also, and while it was brutal at the start, now that I'm Level 10 and unlocked more abilities and better armour etc it's much more manageable. You still have to be careful in every fight though, as the enemies deal a lot of damage and 1 wrong move can spell death (have to save often haha). Really enjoying this game a lot, I've been focusing on side quests and subplots a lot, and haven't gone to Novigrad yet. I'm really loving Gwent, and go out of my way to find players to face and get their rare cards.

Fun game.

Although I have not had a massive amount of time to sink into it.

It's not really much of a spoiler, but this was my 3rd encounter with Ronvid, or whatever his name is..

Spoiler

Thought I'd share some wild swings..

Wow I thought the opening cinematics of The Witcher 2 were epic but The Witcher 3 takes it up a notch or three.
