Hmmmm top 5 PS3 games.

1. Killzone 3. Campaign wasn't anything special but I played the hell out of the multiplayer for Killzone 3 for a long time and really enjoyed it.

2.  Ratchet and Clank a crack in time. Okay I love all the ratchet and clank games but this one is by far my favourite on the PS3 generation.

3. Saints Row 2. Another game I played the hell out of. Played through it multiple times, with mutliple characters and throughly enjoyed myself.

4. Dragons Crown. Played this a lot with mates and was a pretty damn satisfying side scrolling beat em up.

5. Deadpool. Okay this one is kind of biased in the fact Deadpool is my favourite damn comic character of all time. Gameplay wise it's pretty generic hack and slash but the writing and way deadpool acts is absolutely spot on and still cracks me up when I go back and play it again. Just kind of annoyed you can't get a PC copy anymore.

Was uncharted 2 actually better than the glorious TLoU?

It's a tough call for me, I am a huge UC fan; I think game play wise UC takes it but story is all TLoU.

Some really interesting choices here, pleasantly surprised to see Dragon's Crown and Killzone 2/3 mentioned.  Both DC and KZ2 are in my top 10, this thread reminds me I really should get around to actually playing TLOU sometime.

Hopefully they do the PS4 port soon so I can enjoy Uncharted 1 & 2 then.

Ive been tossing up playing them just on PS3 but surely there will be a PS4 trilogy, and surely it will be soon, the one rerelease I want.

Man I am hanging out for news of the re-release, would love to play them all again. Still have my PS3 copies, just no PS3 to play them on.

I've played so many great PS3 games, but the only ones that really come to mind that really hooked me for hundreds of hours are White Knight Chronicles 1 & 2.

A pair of great, underrated games right there :D

I love the part in that game where they try to make you decide, but then the buttons just bounce around the screen confusing you! So good!

1. Fallout 3 - The first 3 hours of this game I was pretty bored but I quickly fell in love with the freedom of action this game offered in a time where first person shooters were almost exclusively linear. It quickly became my favourite game of all time.

2. Red Dead Redemption - A game about the old west that not only didn't suck but was a complete masterpiece. GTA doesn't have sh*t on this game.

3. Battlefield Bad Company 2 - A shooter junkies wet dream. Whilst the single player wasn't spectacular (It was entirely passable) the memories of this game will always inhibit good feelings. I remember seeing the trailer around the time I had fallen in love with the 2nd Modern Warfare and I thought it only looked okay. But when I picked it up that was it, a new me was born. Hours upon hours playing this game with my brothers trying to outdo each other on the scoreboard. Battlefield has become my favourite franchise because of this game. (Although Battlefield 4 was underwhelming).

4. Call of Duty 4 - I played this game at a time where the only previous FPS games I had played were Counter-Strike and Black. Countless coffee filled hours of my life were spent playing this game on my ancient CRT TV. This game truly is the reason FPS rose to dominate (and ultimately dilute) the games market.

5. Farcry 3 - Seriously what the hell did this game not offer? It had an outstanding Single Player shooter experience with RPG elements, it had a competitive multiplayer that wasn't awful or tacked on, it had a passable co-op story, a map editor, the list goes on. Probably one of the best value-for money purchases I have ever made.

Special mentions that didn't make this list:

Uncharted 2
The Last of Us
Assassins Creed 2
Battlefield 3
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
Fight Night: Champion
Borderlands 2
Grand Theft Auto V

1. Uncharted 2

2. The Last of Us

Firstly... tough call, and secondly, would it be wrong to list the other two in the top five? :P ... I think the reasons have been discussed pretty thoroughly already. Uncharted 2 just does everything the best of all three games in the trilogy, and I think the faster pace, and it being a shooter rather than stealth focused, gives it the edge over The Last of Us. I have a soft spot for the first Uncharted still, and it is my most replayed playstation game (I think the count is 10 linear completed runs).. it is also short enough that I've played it in one sitting without losing feeling in my extremities...

Moving on from Naughty Dog fanboyism...

3. Grand Theft Auto 5

Best game ever in it's genre?... I think so. Definitely so on PS3, as San Andreas and Vice City don't make the debate... Rockstar learnt and took on board all the criticisms from GTA4 and improved it in every way. I still think they made the right decision with IV seeing as the New York City/New Jersey region is one giant urban sprawl, but not everyone shared my view on that.

Now it gets harder... but as it is favourite, not 'best'.... I gotta stick with that, and I can't go past:

4. Borderlands

The sequel improved a lot, and added more DLC and characters. I think I prefer the first one a little. The Mad Max-ness of the opening hours I think is the better setting. I can't go past the fact the mrs and I spent 50-60 odd levels co-op on the same pair of vault hunters... never once taking them on solo runs (except when I tro-ho'd the trophy for online co-op)

5. Red Dead Redemption

Enjoyed it a lot more than I initially thought I would (apart from the zombie DLC, don't care for that)... enough to 100% the offline stuff... Didn't mind the ending, but didn't care for the way the game 'continues' after the ending..

In no particular order (don't want to cause a stir here)

1. Uncharted 3
2. Ultra Street Fighter IV
3. GTA V
4. Red Dead Redemption
5. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2

Games that were great but not as great as the 5 listed above:

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3
Tekken Tag Tournament 2
Saints Row 2/Saints Row 3
Assassins Creed Brotherhood
WWE '13 (possibly the best wwe game on last/current gen)
Bioshock Infinite
