They only really go for the Party vote.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I think only J.Fitzsimmons has ever won a electorate seat for the Greens.

Walk before pushed I guess. Still, end of an era, and another blow to the Nats.

They got close to another one - Greens ran Gareth Hughes in Ohariu against Dunne last election. He got good numbers, but unfortunately Labour ran some random as well so split the 'anti-Dunne' vote there.

Hey look, it effectively outlines the biggest problem with the current system of dictatorship
(tho their chances aren't quite that good anymore)

Edit: Guess I should incl the footnote - When this video was recorded, the Green Party was polling at roughly 14%.

The Herald and news talk zb keep quoting surveys saying national is fitter to run the country yet they never say these surveys are conducted on landlines.. who besides old national voters still has a landline?

Ol' Winnie aye? 6 figure salary + ministerial perks + super + over payments. Between all that tax payer money, and being in the king maker position, must be pretty sweet being that guy.

Why exactly are people earning salaries getting super on top is beyond me.

So,  who leaked the winston thing?

National?

Someone working at the IRD?

Greens (Since their number have plummeted)

Someone else?

Winston himself?

A mix of old accusations, half told clues, etc.

-#themotherofallscandals started trending on Twitter. Newsroom's Tim Murphy hypes "something" big.

-Several people have hinted it was regarding National MP Paula Bennett's colourful history while on the benefit. Not only lying to WINZ, but illicit drug use, etc.

-Newsroom were planning on releasing it, but has received a gag order and threats of litigation, so they have postponed any article until they have the legal all clear.

-With #motherofallscandals trending, there needed to be you know, a scandal. Surprisingly at the same time, information regarding Winston Peters and a super over-payment is leaked from within MSD.

With National's current tactic to try and drive Green and NZF votes down to under 5%, things are getting dirty.

National were in the most obvious position of power to leak the info, and had obvious reason to do so at that specific time. It looked like the move has backfired, so now they're using assets like Matthew Hooton to spread unsubstantiated rumours that there was Green involvement, again, trying to use the backfire as an opportunity to drive down the Green vote at the same time.

I wouldn't be surprised if Paula Bennett takes the fall for this one, as something might be coming out about her soon.

Double post f*** you. http://www.nzherald....jectid=11913511seems the best piece on it. Weirdly, Tracy Watkins makes the most revealing point to me.

"National certainly has good reason for wanting to knock Peters down. If his vote suffers by an even a couple of points it will likely be National that picks them up. Risky business given that National may need Peters to govern? Actually, there is a scenario which the Nats have worked out where they could return to Government without needing any coalition allies. It relies on the Greens and TOPS party falling just short of the 5 per cent threshold and their wasted vote being divvied up between Labour and National."

First debate tonight! Should be good, and might be time to sign off on Elections after it. A bit over all of it.

Honestly why is David Seymour talking in anything ever? Just hand him Epsom and move on.

I'm not sure which part you are questioning.

There was a debate tonight between two party leaders. I was referring to both of those party leaders. If I missed your confusion let me know.
