This month is probably a bit early to see any changes in the games with gold program after Microsoft’s promise to better align the program with customers expectations but it will be interesting to see anyway

Often inaccurate early rumours seem to keep coming back to a Saints Row title for April

Probably something that won't make me want to renew my gold. Dark Souls: Prepare To Die Edition would though. I secretly am hoping it is.

If they did they would only give you the basic game. Dark Souls isn't really an online game that much though.

I've only grabbed...Magic and Dead Island I believe, with this promotion. I have no idea why they keep shilling their terrible, basic arcade games to us.

It's like they're not even trying to compete with the PS+ Program.

Phil Spencer has said that it's not seen in the same way as PS+ to microsoft, because unlike PS+ you get to keep the games if your membership expires so they said that they have to view it in those terms. so get use to crap games im afraid. I'm not looking forward to some of the crap we'll get for Xbox One when it gets it though

That's unfortunate, because the PS+ Subscription is even more justified now that it's required for multi on the PS4, so you just grow a large back catalog of games you'll get around to, haha!

Oh, I also got Sleeping Dogs with GWG. That was good.

"Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Game Studios, has told a Q&A session at SXSW that Games with Gold will become "more true" to what consumers want from the program."

unfortunately what many consumers unrealistically want is AAA games free within a few months of release

I suspect it might take a few months to see what they have cooked up as I the next few months of games are probably already locked in

I don't want them in a few months of release, but just knowing something good is coming would be nice. Hell, who wanted that Keflings game? Seriously?

If it was something within a year or release, awesome. There's a lot of titles that fit that range. It just feels with what they released so far, it doesn't seem like it will get better.

When you say this months games do you mean New Release games or Games with Gold?

Cause if you are talking about new release games that is a load of bullshit cause this has been the best month for new release games in a long time.

Yeah, although you're still paying a monthly fee to have access to them. You can stop your membership I guess after you get a particular game but it's effectively making whatever the game is 12.95 (or whatever a month costs).

And you have to wonder whether any of the games bar Dead Island/Dead Rising are actually worth that.

Having said that E3 is rolling around again in a few months and I'm sure they'll have some doozies for then.

Anyone download Dungeon Defenders. I've been couch co-op with my wife for the last two weeks and it's uprisingly addictive. It reminds me of the early EA Lord of the Rings games where you had levels where you had to fight back hoards of enemies while maintaining your defences. Even on the lower difficulties it's easy to get the adrenaline pumping when the hoards start marching. Check it out.

As for not taking advantage of this promotion.

Even if you arnt into a particular game it would still be wise to download all of them. By doing this, they will be recorded to your download history as a purchase and you will essentially be able to re-download it any time you want to play it or just try it. For example, in the rare chance something happens to your on-disc copy of AC2, you will "always" have a means to play it this way. Same goes if you have no intrest in tower defense, RPG games.

Better to download it for free, delete it off the HDD, and always have it available to you than not download it and have to pay to have it made available to you if you ever have the notion in the future.
