I loved the original too, for some different reasons though.

Best 'Story based' anime I've seen that I can recall are between 'Death Note' and 'Baccano!'

Baccano has easily one of the best narratives out there.

In DBZ I liked the Gohan going to college the most tbh lol. It was something different and more relaxed. Less about power levels and more about fun.

I always was alone in that opinion, most people hated that whole Saiyaman story of DBZ lol. I still wasn't a fan of what they did to Gohan though, from badass to pussy but whach-u-gona-do haha.

Monster can get pretty slow at times but just waiting for Johan to make his appearance keeps the whole story going, so its probably the best in my opinion  :)
I really like Bakuman as its something that isnt a traditional battle anime, but still retains my interest the entire way with interesting characters and plot twists

I'd gladly agree if you mean the movie ending.

I didn't like the ending of the movie or the original anime series. It felt incredible rushed. They built up so much awesomeness and I felt really let down :(

Why was Gohan called Gohan anyway? Did they make any explanation for the weirdness of that name in the series?

Yep I'm serious romulus

Goku's "grandfather" (the old man that found him) was named Gohan. And Goku just named his son after him. If that's what you mean.

That's not what I mean... "Gohan" means "rice" (and, by extension, "breakfast") in Japanese, so it's like... a really strange name for a kid. I guess they never addressed that in the dubs.

Started watching Avatar season 2. It's interesting but everyone seems to have massive daddy issues.

The best anime I've seen in terms of overall plot, character development and immersion are Steins;Gate, FMA:Brotherhood, Clannad, Baccano!, Death Note, Tiger and Bunny, Fate Zero, Gurren Lagann, and perhaps Code Geass.

Of the anime I'm watching now that are currently airing, I'd say Nagi no Asukara is up there as my favourite, with Yowamushi Pedal bringing up the rear. Kyoukai no Kanata is pretty decent too (although it doesn't know what it wants to be). Definitely a great season though, one of the best in recent years imo.

I remember when this video first started getting circulated through p2p software years ago now, everyone at my school thought it was the best sh*t ever.
