So who's the ultimate racer? Is it you? Well here's your chance to make this dream a reality!

Starting from the 8th August 2013 we will be running a race series consisting of Three rounds, once a week, Three races per night.

There will be some spot prizes and a main prize for someone who attends every event

So get in there and sign up here!

Each driver will be racing for points, with a leader board that will be updated regularly, here's the point system:

1st - 20 points
2nd - 18 points
3rd - 15 points
4th - 12 points
5th - 10 points
6th - 8 points
7th - 6 points
8th - 4 points
9th - 2 points
10th - 1 point

The following settings will be the same for every night:

Damage: Full
Penalties: High
Boost: Low
Catch up: None
Start type: Grid start with false check
Tyre Wear: Very Fast
Grid Position: Fastest first (everyone will have a set time to set a fast lap) for the first race on each night: then Reverse Grid for the next 2 races
Assists: All off except ABS

How to Join In
It's real easy to participate - Here's the skinny:

Setting up for the first time:

  • Make sure you've got the latest updates for Gran Turismo 5 - simply run GT5 while you're online and the game will prompt you to update, if you haven't already
  • Make sure you're friends with brettz0r on PlayStation Network - if you're not sure how to add a friend on PSN, check out this handy guide

Setting up for week's race:

  • Make sure you have the car (details posted below)
  • At 8pm on Thursday:
  • Start the game
  • Go to GT5 Life
  • Choose 'Community'
  • Find my gamertag brettz0r
  • Select the little coffee cup icon from  my gamer tag to join the lounge

Once you're in, you can choose 'Free run' to practice on the track with the other racers, and have a chat too. At 8:30 I'll start the race, and you'll get an automatic countdown; once it's finished - we're on!

Tip: Please do not choose 'Start Race' as this starts the event, which means I need to arrange to cancel and re-do everything.

See you all there!

Qualify either first or last and first corner is all good :P

"you can't win a race in the first corner but you sure can lose it" as the ol saying goes

That is the down side of race cars: I enjoy painting my car / wheels odd colours and seeing what other people come up with.
I have just been doing loads of B-Spec races to get my Money up. Was down to being under 3mill :/
Easy money to be made while watching a movie, making dinner etc there Monkey.

Ok Paul: Sorry I cant really make these any later.
I may be able to switch these over to Weds if that makes it easier for everyone? I know Kiwi has a hard time getting on on Thursdays.

My b-spec drivers always seem to be too crap to win, i try putting them in awesome cars and they just cant handle it, also im the type of person who has to keep watching them drive just in case they need my help  :P

i did a few seasonal events so i think i have half a mill now  :king:

I did the signature edition B-spec challenge way back in the early days.. hated every minute of it! But my god did it make it easy winning big money.. :)

I'll be making my first live appearance this week I hope!!

Just for clarification... Whats considered "race cars"?

A racecar should have a race number on it and normally has sponsors decals on it. They are easy to pick.

Ugh.. Pretty much what Triumph said"

A racecar should have a race number on it and normally has sponsors decals on it. They are easy to pick.

So yeah: Looking at the physical car: Sponsor decals, racing numbers, big wings and some times the car description says "racing" or RM on em ;)
-Thats what we normally qualify as racing cars on here anyway. If you have a car that you want to query: Post up its description and I can check it out ( I have 99% of the cars in the game: So I should have one in my garage to look at it)

Plus: if anyone is wondering why I like to make it either "Race cars" or "Road cars" : they handle differently with completely different braking points and top speeds... normally there is less accidental crashing if everyone uses the same type of car as you can judge your opponents braking points much easier

is there a filter in the garage for car type? It is an interesting thing.

Sadly: No :(
It would make this much easier though

I tested a few cars today. My honda hsv seemed fastest initially, but it wasn't a particularly thorough test.
That's just on Tsukuba though

So many replies.
1. Yes: do fix your net: you are normally competitive when u don't lag out 666.

2. I just did 1hrs testing for 450 PP on Tsukuba with Triumph: best I could get was 58.485 with x2 different cars.

3. Oh2: aslong as 11 people don't turn up ;)

4. I honestly thought about putting NASCAR in, just because you don't do so well in them lol. I think they were they main reason to why I beat you in the last series.

And on a side note: I also tried out some 600PP Race cars on Laguna. Couldn't find many cars that were terribly easy to drive, so far it looks like I'm sticking withy 4wd from last week
