Just thought I would open a thread about general movie talk.

Surprisingly there is not already one.

What I was wondering.....

This mediocre movie,

I assumed there would be a sequel, considering the books.

What happened with that?

Haven't heard anything for 3 years.

Edit:

Sequels

In September 2010, executive producer Christopher Mapp stated that there may be two sequels, based on the novels The Dead of the Night and The Third Day, The Frost. He also stated that there may be a television series, adapting the remainder of the book series.

In December 2010, The Age reported that The Dead of the Night had been green-lit for production, which would commence once the script by Stuart Beattie was completed, with release scheduled for 2012. Filming was due to commence in September 2011.

On 20 November 2011, Sydney's Daily Telegraph reported that the sequel had apparently been cancelled. Lincoln Lewis stated "At this stage it doesn't look like it's going to go ahead."

In December 2011, the official Tomorrow, When the War Began Facebook page posted that Kieran Darcy-Smith is working on a script for a sequel.

In August 2012, it was announced by producers that they hoped for filming to start in early 2013.

It is in development at the moment. Pre-Production I believe I read. The first one didn't do as well as they hoped so it took them a lil bit to green light a sequel.

Oh right, I just found out that it only screened in NZ and Oz in 2010.

Britain in 2011, and the US in 2012.

Why are you interested in a sequel if you thought the first one was mediocre?

I liked the books.

And there was nowhere in this sub-forum to ask.

I think they're just teasing ya :P I think it's a good idea to start a thread like this.

I asked this in the general thread but didn't really get a response/dunno if people understood I was talking about a movie...

Is anyone going to 'The World's End' premiere in Welly this weekend? Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Edgar Wright and Martin Freeman will be there!

Shaun of the Dead is my all time favourite movie, with Hot Fuzz not far off. I really hope that this one blows em away!

I read the first book as an english assingment and it was really good but the movie didn't live up to any premise the book had. Hopefully the sequel screenplay is better written.

Yea, I know man. :)

The thread is relevant.

-I'm looking forward to anything that Pegg and Frost are in.

-I also read the first book at school. The movie was not near as good, but in saying that - they rarely are.

So, turns out that Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Edgar Wright, Peter Jackson, Martin Freeman, Richard Armitage AND Benedict Cumberbach are all in Wellington for the premiere of The World's End...

But this actually looks so dumb it's funny.

Looks freaky..
I don't follow the comics or remember the cartoons, so don't know where they'd fit in.
I do enjoy X-men though..

I love it when these American movies have these ridiculous speeches in.

So cheesey.
