I didn't study it well, but I think this track map is up to date:

silverstone-spectators-track-map.png

Copse is the first corner in Forza, but the layout was different in this demo so I was a bit disoriented and can't remember.

(edit: yeh the GT6 demo starts on the international straihjt marked there)

Gonna have another go now and will try to beat everyone's times.... though realistically maybe aim for only a few seconds slower than Sidawg.

I spent an hour on the first section and didn't beat Sidawg's controller + AT time. :sleepy:

Haha...
Well I made a spreadsheet of what I had from my Friends list... A few of us are close to Sidawgs times on TT sections but no one is even close to his full lap performance!

I will update this in the first post aswell

Nice :D

My times were all done with one hand and AT but I had a decent go with normal two hands and MT today and it went alright, so I'll work through the rest of them next. :)

Go Teljam :D

I think I had two goes at the last test, realised I was too tired and turned it off.Haven't had another crack it it yet.

I can tidy up a few of the short tests, but I think when you try too many times in one sitting, you push a bit too hard and lose any rhythm you had.

I was wondering why there was no tufty on my list...

dont feel ashamed we all start somewhere, but we dont all start with a wheel.

just follow the racing line given but break later than they suggest and youll do fine

Do we have to put up our 3 time trap times to be able to put it up on the spreadsheet?

I don't think I'll go any faster. Starting to fall down the NZ leaderboard too.

A little pissed off at the whole system really. The way I drive reflects how I'd drive the real car. The only way to go faster than my time is to exploit loopholes in the track and handling system, that is not possible in real life, nor any of the techniques you use to really race. At the end of the day the competition ends up rewarding those that can exploit the best, rather than drive the best.

You end up with finalists made up of those people who can drift the best, rather than those who can race the best.

Eh.. you're saying drifting is faster on this academy demo? Hmm :-/
Aggressive lines (I.e cutting corners) will always be a problem in lap time trials, but I hope this one doesn't have any ridiculous grass-driving spots like on the Indianapolis one a while back.

Yeah thats why they need a second stage to the academy where they drive real cars  :P

Drifting / power sliding is definitely faster in this Time trial. Watch the replays of the faster guys.
Its really hard to get those slides into something controllable like those guys have. They definitly know what they are doing but it just wouldn't work in real life.
No corner cutting like Indianapolis, I think they learnt pretty well from that one. You cut in too much without getting an invalidated lap, same goes with running out too wide after corners.

Haha the problem is the ones who would kick arse at that don't get to make it that far, beaten by the sliders.
