For me there just needs to be more things you can do with your car. More creative freedom.

Fair call, but with over 1000 cars you can see why this hasn't happened, maybe take out the crap cars and do more with less

Yeah I can understand that but I'm hoping the majority of that number aren't standard model cars. Maybe if they re-use textures from GT5 this'll be less of a problem.

It sounds like gt6 is still gt5.5.
Basicly it has all the same cars and tracks from GT5 Plus extras.
They have remodeled a lot of things but it would be safe to say that the damage (if you can call it that) and AI are not going to change much.
I think the challenges and online mode are going to be the fun parts of GT6.

I have to say that GT5 (despite some of the server issues) is by far the best online Racer I have played and I hope GT6 builds from that.

GTP: Regarding car damage, will that be roughly the same that we see currently in GT5?

KY: “Yes.”

I guess we can't have everything.

Yeah we'll get the demo but I don't think we are eligible for the Academy.

Odd.
If its like that last GT academy that nZ wasn't included in, the demo will be quite boring.
You could only do 5 short 'license" type events per week before they open up another 5.
No real racing, no car choices, no online, no tuning.

I'll still be having a crack at it though :)

I like when you have a strict car choice with no tuning options, then the deciding factor is the driver.

This demo will be some license test esque things, then the lap at silverstone apparently. Silverstone being one of my most loathed racetracks.

My opinions:
1: graphics seem the same? Havnt seen if the smoke looks better/ worse yet though
2: I like the upgraded handling / physics, allthough I'm yet to try it with my wheel.
3: AI still seems useless? (Or set to easy for demo)
4: I dislike how the whole demo is like one big tutorial. Lucas's face pops up every 2 seconds, telling you what do do. The game even has an icon in race, telling you to accelerate, change up and down gears :/
5: it seems pointless earning money in this demo?
6: seems like buying cars will take forever in this too. Making the 'own 1000 cars' trophy take about 24 hrs just in buying cars :/

Small gripes that so not effect the overall gameplay though. Seems fun, wish I could vrs Sidawg 1v1... Might help me match his current number 2 world ranking!

Finished tonight as NZ #1, region (everyone who isn't eligible for prizes) #3, world #65.

Expect to be nowhere this time tomorrow :(

GT Academy is releasing on july 2nd, which is going to run on GT6 code, so i guess we can all compare it then. Im not too impressed, i wished they improved the AI,  but it doesn't seem like it as it wasn't a point on the vid.

Early build GT6 code though... the last round of demos, prologues and full games each had visual improvements...

As for Forza... there are always things that the series will do better... There are hallmarks of GT that you can tell will just never be changed... I like both GT5 and Forza 4 (and every variant before them), but neither one of them tops the other in every single way.... The shame is I can't see me buying both new consoles, so Forza 5 will have to have a miss...

The graphics are definitely improved! Pay attention to the lighting, especially all through the cockpit when shadows fall across it. Watch the sun when you drive past trees on Autumn ring. Look how there's no screen tearing. The anti-aliasing is improved too, I reckon. It's definitely improved.

Other than that, it's the GT Academy demo. I was suprised there was more than one car and one track :P
