Nobody wants chicken legs.

looking at getting back into it (today in fact lol). love weights, but think i'll finally try and properly get into cardio, drop down to my ideal weight then get back into strength. pb bench was around the 130kg mark but thats when i was young lol (and 85kg), will now be happy with anything over 2 plates each side. would like to get into some jiu jitsu or wrestling later, for now i just wanna get back into power mode!

Wow, how did I miss this thread!

Currently doing rehab for my shoulder and hip (yeah, turning into a oldman - haha).

Then gonna jump back into weight training, cardio and b-ball in the next 3-4 weeks.

Yeah I can remember that was pretty common in UoA gym few years back. Looks like they are still there. Go straight up to them and ask, most of them just leaves after the that.

Dumbell Shrugs. Anything exercise that has you pull/push mainly by flexing your shoulders will increase your shoulder strength and size.

Anyone looking to lose weight fast and get cardio fit should take up boxing training. Honestly, hitting the bag for 10x3 minute rounds each day gives the best results. Before I started doing bagwork, I had tried everything. You can drop like 1-2kgs a week doing it until you get to your minimum/"boiled-down" weight. Gotta make sure you get twice as much water in your system though. No fairy-ass punching neither, otherwise you won't drop sh*t.

Lateral raise complex - Front, sides, bent over behind back. Don't need a lot of weight for this, just high reps.

DB Shoulder press.

Power Cleans (& jerk if you can), Power Snatches.

i've been doing y-presses, javelin presses alongside the standard shoulder press (at max weight 6reps) and shrugs. seem to be a pretty solid workout for the shoulders.

I've been trying to slowly strengthen my lower back.

It must be working, cos I haven't had any pain there for a while.

Stoked.

Nice yeah, I've had major problems in the past due to cricket fast bowling (stress fractures etc). I'm really careful with my form these days but back is an important workout that I wouldn't miss for the world.

I can no longer pull crazy weights dead lifting like I did in my early twenties but still stoked I can pull 200 kg+ raw for 5 reps when I'm in the zone.

I think that is how I have weakened my back.
All that cricket through school years.
Going nuts with the pace.

Used to only really get sore shoulders then.

haha, ready this thread you guys are way too super strong for moi. :D

i'm starting a build up toward 100 consecutive push-ups deal-e-o at the moment. just started today so thought i would come celebrate. haha.

100 push-ups to me is a ridiculous huge amount, i tap out at 15 max so i figure it couldn't hurt to give it a shot.

will keep you guys posted.

:mario:

as for the thread itself . . .

i don't go to the gym. tried it once, thought it sucked.

being going to Taekwondo over here in Aus (Rhee variety) and really enjoying it, which is mostly why I'm doing this push-up thing. I need to strengthen/harden my knuckles a little bit and figure this will be one way of doing so - alongside beating up my punching bag a couple times a week.

100 push ups, solid.
That is quite a challenge Mario, good luck.
I may also get back into that tbh.
