anyone else planning to grab the WiiU (apparently due to launch late November this year)?

I doubt my wife will let me get one - on account of just recently buying a wii - but a particular source of awesome news -> http://www.gameinfor...in-3-at-e3.aspx means that I will try really, really hard to convince her that i will grow cancerous growths if i'm not allowed a WiiU (with Pikmin 3).

i'm mostly interested to see how Nintendo brings over the Wii crowd of regular people that have pretty much given up the system buy now aka all the people who jumped on fairly early because of Wii Sports and Wii Fit but now never play it (read: everyone i know with a Wii who isn't a core gamer).
People have experienced Kinect now and PS Move so I think it will be a big deal if Nintendo can repeat the kind of growth they did with the Wii.

My most wanted on WiiU are . . . an actual pokemon game and Pikmin!

It's a new Nintendo console, so I'm definitely interested. This E3 should be great with Nintendo doing their big reveals on Wii U software and features. Too early to decide if I will get one at launch or not.

Interested, but then again I thought I was interested in a 3DS and have never considered picking one up yet...

This just makes me want to play Pikmin 2 though, I never got around to grabbing it. Gunna try find that Wii remake cheap somewhere

Well when Zelda comes out for it, it will be impossible for me not to get it... Whether I get it at launch will be decided prob after E3. Haven't played Pikmin 1 but the second one was really cool and unique. Can't wait to see if Pikmin 3 goes for a bigger scale.

If the Super Mario and Zelda games are awesome then I will most likely shell out for one when they become cheaper than the introductory price

Graphically it looks nice though! But it is only 2D...who knows, could be interesting...

They did state that the trailer was meant for internal use only, and is probably showing the controller used with the Dev kit. The final controller will be wireless.

I was expecting the announcement that 2+ Wii U Gamepads can be used with one console. As far as I know, they have previously said that only one can be used, and the rest have to be Wii motion controllers or Pro controllers. Maybe they will announce something at the E3 press conference.

See, that's an interesting point I never thought of. With this controller now following a sort of standard set by the other two home consoles, will the Wii U's pad controller be relegated to the likes of a novelty device along with the Move and Kinect?
They all have amazing technology within them, but due to what the market buys they aren't utilised, so that raises another interesting question about the necessity of this controller and what it will do in terms of helping the console evolve past "just another hardcore gaming console".

I've just skimmed over the news so far from Nintendo's conference, didn't watch the live stream. But haven't really seen anything I find too exciting really, more of the same from Nintendo's first party stuff, which isn't a bad thing, but would have been good to see some more new IP's rather than games that are already out on other consoles, or releasing on all 3.

You know what would really sell me on a Wii U, the possibilty that this clip isn't a fake. If anything could sell a console it would be a HD remake of the much overlooked N64's Majora's Mask, check it out...

Stumbled across this whilst looking for Strangers Wrath info of all things. It's Zelda for grown up's on a grown ups console thats what it is, this video is likely a fake but man its such a freking awesome concept

Yep, saw that concept trailer a couple of weeks ago, it's mighty impressive.

It's been widely acceptable it's a fake, which is a REAL shame.

Majora's is one of my favourite Zelda titles.
