Actually, this is one of the first warhammer games that actually looks good. I had one of the older warhammer games which was pretty boring, but this latest one actually seems to be more 'warhammer'-like.

With that said, I havent played it yet but im wanting to.

This is the only WarHammer game outside of Table-Top which is any good (not that I've ever played WarHammer Table-Top). Also, I'm no fan of RTS's but this one I enjoyed thoroughly!

i agree, its a sweet game.

im actually playing through the SP at the moment and am not overly impressed given the story is really boring + its stupidly easy (which is strange given Relics last game Homeworld 2 was stupidly difficult). The models of the heros are disgusting aswell

on the other hand multiplayer is really fun.

i think what makes this more fun is that its basically a action game in a strategy skin. theres not much strategy to the game and most of everything is effective and whooping some ass. (y)

everything looks really cool aswell, those Warhammer Nerds really know how to make some cool looking robots

Killa Kans rule aswell (y)

Rome Total War is still cooler....but this is a cool game if you're not wanting to invest some large hours.

I picked up the gold edition from EB in their sale a couple of weeks back (came with the Winter Assault expansion pack too) and am loving it! I had a mp game online which lasted about 2 hours (I gather this is fairly commonplace for RTS's online but still).

The Chaos army powarowns me.

I don't much like the RTS genre either. Darwinia was one I enjoyed a lot though, probably for its simplicity and innovation.

I realise this is resurrecting an old thread, however I received an email from Relic Entertainment today with the following announcement, which may interest some:

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II: Retribution is turning five, and there's a brand new hero arriving in time for the party. The Necron Overlord has been requested by fans of The Last Stand mode for years, and we're proud to announce that he's joining the fight as the eighth playable champion to celebrate the anniversary!

Not only that, but starting today, March 10, and going until March 15, you can grab the Necron Overlord on Steam completely FREE! Then from March 15 onward, the Necron will be available to purchase as DLC.

In addition to the Necron Overlord, we're implementing a patch for Dawn of War II: Retribution that fixes some of the issues our community has found over the years. For more info on what's being updated, be sure to check out the Dawn of War Blog!
